Our national partner, Akumin, operates more than 600 diagnostic radiology and radiation therapies, including nearly 100 fixed-site radiology locations and 50+ cancer care centers.
1986
The story of Akumin-HNV begins with our roots in Southwest Michigan in 1986, where we launched our first mobile medical Computer Tomography (“CT”) imaging unit to local hospitals. We quickly discovered a growing need for more accessible and affordable diagnostic imaging care that offered a fresh approach to traditional delivery models; this propelled our expansion.
1997
By 1997, we entered into a partnership with Alliance HealthCare Services, one of the largest and most successful healthcare services organizations in the United States. It was at this point; we rebranded as Alliance-HNI. By partnering with a healthcare services provider with longevity, significant market share, and a track record for excellence, we united a collective vision of being a driving force in transforming healthcare.
Further innovating across the healthcare continuum, Akumin-HNV added oncology services, and women’s health services to our leading platform. By extending beyond our full-range of radiology solutions and in partnership with hospitals, health systems, and physician groups, we deliver operational excellence and market development to critical service lines.
2021
In 2021, Alliance Healthcare Services was purchased by Akumin, a national leader in fixed radiology centers. This combined knowledge of freestanding radiology centers and hospital focused partnerships has allowed Akumin to continue to expand and improve solutions for patients and partners alike.
2026 – Today
Alliance-HNI officially rebranded as Akumin-HNV, marking an exciting new chapter built on decades of trusted Radiology service experience. As Akumin-HNV, we strengthen our commitment to transforming diagnostic imaging through expanded access, innovative solutions, and trusted mobile medical services for healthcare partners and communities across the region.
Our mission was born over 40 years ago because we wanted to provide reliable medical services that support the lives of patients and their families in communities across Michigan. It’s also why we remain Michigan’s choice for trusted radiology and healthcare-related services.
